The third edition of the much-loved Bournea Reaching Out series continues to preserve and celebrate the history, people, and heritage of Bournea parish - encompassing Clonakenny, Couraguneen, and surrounding townlands in rural Tipperary.

This year’s publication features a rich blend of stories, photographs, and local research, including “Ten Years a Growing in Shanakill”, “The Ellis Island Epic Journey”, “The Way We Were Exhibition”, and “Preserve & Conserve Parish Projects.” The book also shares school projects from Scoil Mhuire Lismackin, parish events, GAA updates, and fascinating historical accounts such as Loran Creamery, The Post Offices of Couraguneen, and From Australia in Quest of Bournea Heritage.

Compiled by the Bournea Reaching Out heritage group, the 2016 edition reflects another active year of community work - from exhibitions and historical walks to international heritage connections through Ireland Reaching Out.

A heartfelt and informative collection that continues to honour Bournea’s past and connect its present-day community with the global Irish diaspora.
